Do you have a passion for farming and for helping farmers and farmland owners with their land access challenges?
If so and if you are eager to be part of a state-wide land access initiative, then check out the job description for The Land Connection’s full-time Farmland Access Program Manager here.
For more than 20 years, The Land Connection has actively worked to build a more just and equitable food and farming system for Illinois. Our friends at this Champaign-based non-profit offer training, education, and resources to farmers, food businesses, and consumers.
As its name suggests, the founders of The Land Connection originally sought to make land connection happen. Now, the organization is returning to its roots but in a new, ambitious way. In collaboration with The Conservation Fund and the Liberty Prairie Foundation, The Land Connection is establishing the framework for a statewide land access program with a full suite of service. Currently, Illinois lacks a single place for farmers and farmland owners to turn to for advice, resources, and assistance with land access.
The services to be offered by the Illinois Land Access Initiative will include farmland access navigators and a network of technical resources and service provides as well as a statewide farmlink website. The full-time Farmland Access Program Manager will develop and coordinate the initiative’s growth and expansion in a way that instills equity and collaboration in every element.
